Questions about ViewPayout

How a post is paid, the rules a creator works under, what a brand pays and where the numbers come from.

For creators

How is a post paid?

The payout is the smaller of the bounty's cap and the views at the bounty's rate, so $1 per 1,000 views at the default rate. A post under the bounty's view floor earns nothing. The creator receives that gross minus 15%.

When do I get paid?

Earnings wait out the hold, 14 days by default, and then sit in your balance. You can request a cashout once the available balance reaches $25. An operator approves it and it is paid in US dollars.

What counts as a view?

The public view count X shows for the post. ViewPayout reads it on a schedule until the hold ends and pays on the highest reading it took.

Why did my post pay $0?

The usual reason is the view floor, which is 1,000 views by default. A post under the floor pays nothing, and so does a post that was deleted, edited or still private when its hold ended. A post that ends this way records the reason.

Why is my payout frozen?

The post was flagged for a person to look at: its views and its likes, replies and reposts did not match up, or its views were far above your usual. A person reviews it. An approved post is paid as normal, and a rejected one earns nothing.

Can I connect more than one X account?

Yes. Each X account is verified, claims and is paid on its own. One X account can belong to only one ViewPayout account.

Rules for creators

How long do I have to submit a post?

The post's link must reach ViewPayout within 60 minutes of the post going up by default. A bounty shows its own window.

Can I edit a post after I submit it?

No. An edit earns nothing, and neither does deleting the post. A post set to private pauses measuring, and a post still private when the hold ends earns nothing.

Can I submit an old post?

No. Only posts made after your claim count. Claim first, then post.

Which links can I put in a post?

When a bounty sets a link mode, the post may carry only the tracked link ViewPayout gives you or an address on the brand's own site, and any other link is refused. A bounty with no link mode does not check links.

Do I have to add a disclosure tag?

When the bounty requires disclosure, the post must carry #ViewPayout. The draft checker tells you if it is missing.

Does a claim reserve a slot for me?

No. A claim is free, reserves nothing and does not block anyone. Slots go in the order submitted posts arrive, so post and submit early.

What stops people gaming the numbers?

A post must be new, public, unedited and written from the claimed account. One X post can back only one claim, ever. Readings are taken on a schedule, a screen compares views with engagement, and a person reviews flagged posts and first posts the automated review passes.

For brands

How do I get a workspace?

Email hello@viewpayout.com and we set up your account and your brand workspace. Top up its balance, then open bounties from the workspace through the API.

What does a post cost me?

The gross plus 15%. When a post earns $10 at the bounty's rate, the brand is charged $11.50 and the creator receives $8.50. The most one post can cost is the cap plus 15%, which is $57.50 at the default cap.

Can one login run several brands?

Yes. Each brand is its own workspace under your login, with its own bounties.

What control do I have over what creators say?

You write the brief, the statements creators may make and the hard rules they must not break. Each post is checked against them, and you can reject a post that is waiting for review.

How do I know the views are real?

Posts are read on a schedule, screened against their own engagement and the creator's usual numbers, and reviewed by a person when they are flagged or are a creator's first post that passed the automated review. You are charged only for the verified views, up to the cap.

Is there an API?

Yes. The API reference covers bounties, claims, submissions and balances, and the docs walk through a bounty from start to payout.

For everyone

Where do the numbers come from?

View counts come from X. Money amounts come from the bounty's frozen terms and the same arithmetic the ledger uses, so the page, the API and the payout agree.

How long until money moves?

After the hold, 14 days by default. A creator then requests a cashout, and an operator approves it.

Who reviews the edge cases?

A person does. When the automated review passes a first post, a person approves it before it is measured. Posts the reviewer cannot judge, posts that could cost a brand a lot and posts with a fraud flag also go to a human queue before any money moves.

What is the fee?

15% of each post's gross. The creator receives the gross minus 15%, and the brand pays the gross plus 15%. The cap applies before the fee. See pricing.
