# Payout Formula, Rounding and Fees Explained

The exact payout formula, rounding, the cashout minimum and a worked example.

## Formula

earned  = floor(views x rate_per_1k_cents / 1000)   (0 when views < view_floor)
gross   = min(cap_cents, earned)
fee     = floor(gross x 1500 / 10000)
creator = gross - fee
brand   = gross + fee
```

The fee is 15% (1500 basis points). The cap applies before the fee, and both fees round down. The creator is paid on the highest verified reading in the measurement window.

## Worked example

A bounty pays $1 per 1,000 views with a $50 cap. A post reaches 6,000 views: earned is $6, which is under the cap, so the gross is $6, the creator receives $5.10 and the brand pays $6.90. A post that reaches the cap has a gross of $50, so the creator receives $42.50 and the brand pays $57.50.

## Brand balance

A brand tops up a prepaid balance in whole US cents. A top-up adds its price to the balance, with no fee at top-up. Fees are taken at settlement.

## Creator cashout

- The minimum is $25, and a request takes the full available balance.
- USD only. An operator approves the request before money moves.
- A creator's balance reports available, pending (in hold), requested and paid cents for each connected X account.
